Our Process

We’ve designed our process to be as smooth and seamless for you as possible. Every client situation is unique, though, so we also adapt our process to your constraints. At each stage of this process we check two important things:

  1. Are there programs that you qualify for?
  2. Are the programs that you qualify for better than you have now based on what you want your program to look like?

If the answer to both of those questions is “yes,” we’ll keep going to the next step. If the answer to either question is “no,” we’re going to tell you what we’ve found and what options are available. We will also discuss how we can work to get you qualified for programs that have the benefits you want in the future. We’re in it for the long haul!

Diagnostic Appointment

We will learn about your business and your needs. We will check if there are programs that you are qualified for and that provide benefits that are of value to you.

If you don’t qualify for any programs or if the programs that you do qualify for are not a better choice for you than you have now, I will tell you what I found, and we can either walk away or discuss how we can work to get you qualified for programs that have the benefits you want in the future.

Preparation

Nothing specific is needed to prepare for this meeting. If you want to combine the Diagnostic Appointment and Protection Review into a single meeting, we can do that. See Protection Review section for information.

Protection Review

We will review and collect information about your current coverages, jobs, payroll, risk management strategies, and compile administrative information about your business. The focus of this meeting is collecting the information we will need to get the appropriate quotes from insurance companies.

It is common for us to have this meeting with your CFO, Human Resources Officer, CPA, or others who have the administrative information needed. If there are questions they are unable to answer, we will be able to send a short list of outstanding questions to you.

Preparation

It would be helpful for you to complete the electronic Workers Compensation Application form. You can start from the beginning, or we can get it started with the information we have available ahead of time. You will receive an email with a link to the form for you to complete.

It would also be helpful for you to have any of the following that you have available ready as well:

  • Your payroll information – if you were unable to complete this in the electronic application
  • 5 years of loss runs – we can assist you in getting these if you would like
  • Job descriptions
  • Employee handbook
  • Safety plan / safety manual
  • Federal Employer ID Number (FEIN)
Solutions Presentation

This is when it pays off! We will show you the program that we believe is the best fit for you and why we think so based on our prior conversations.

Sometimes there are multiple programs that come in close enough that you will need to choose which you prefer. When that happens, we will present all competitive proposals we have, answer any questions you may have, and help you make an educated decision.

No specific preparation is needed from you for this meeting.
